Home > Art Work > Seams and Spaces in Between This series explores themes drawn from Western Australia's local history. I am particularly interested in the stories that reflect the hardship faced by pioneering women who came to this region, the harshness of the land and the colourful personal stories of those who make up the rich tapestry of this land. As the title of the series suggests, the history of pioneering women in Western Australia is largely undocumented; their stories fall in the 'seams and spaces' of official historical records. This has left room for me to imagine what those times where like and to present the images, textures, sounds and odd moments of humour in these women's lives. |
