March 2006

I joined a group of artists who paint at Ellis House Community Art Centre in Bayswater. A beautiful old heritage house near the river. I am finding it really encouraging to work along side a group of artists. Derna Johnson runs the centre and she regularly organises exhibitions of our work in the gallery space. There is also a monthly art market held on the first Sunday of the month.

This month I worked on the Pomegranate series, paintings filled with personal symbolism relating to my journey through infertility. These paintings were exhibited and sold through Exomod Café in Mount Lawley.

January-February 2006

The big adventure begins. In December I quit my job as Assistant Publisher at Fremantle Arts Centre Press and started life as a full-time professional artist. There was a great deal to organise including the creation of this website. Produced by my biggest fan, my husband Scott. I worked on three pieces in the first couple of months: Enchanting, Moth Love and Nyanda. All three pieces combine my love of colour, text and personal stories.
