A body of works produced and shown at the above mentioned art awards. Seams and Spaces in Between, explores themes drawn from Western Australia's local history. With a particular interested in depicting the hardship faced by pioneering women who came to Western Australia, the harshness of the land and the colourful personal stories of those who make up the rich tapestry of this land. As the title of the series suggests, the history of pioneering women in Western Australia is largely undocumented; their stories fall in the 'seams and spaces' of official historical records. This has left room for me to imagine what those times where like and to present the images, textures, sounds and odd moments of humour in these women's lives.

A Goddess for Every Woman

Inspired by Clarissa Pinkola Estes’ book Women Who Run with the Wolves. This series centred on folklore, fairy tales and dream symbols; celebrating and portraying aspects of the women in my life. The series draws on myths, legends, and fairy tales from a vast and eclectic range of traditions.

1994                 Circus

This series signifies the media frenzy that surrounded the tumultuous end of Apartheid and the birth of a new South Africa. The paintings in this series capture my feelings of anxiety and claustrophobia at that time.
